Magdalena Palica was born in Wrocław during the times when the People’s Republic of Poland was beginning to waver, but everything ‘Germanized’ was still highly suspicious. She obtained her doctoral degree in history from the University of Wrocław. Although she has been living abroad for several years, she continues to actively engage in the history of interwar Breslau and the art collecting scene in Silesia. She has authored numerous publications in this field, including the book “From Delacroix to van Gogh: Jewish Art Collections in Old Wrocław” (2010). Currently, she directs the Municipal Scientific Library of the City of Trier in Germany.
